What is Dental Hygiene?
Most of us develop build up on our teeth at one time or another. At best this can be unsightly, or even give bad breath, at worst it can lead to gum disease and premature tooth loss.
Regular hygiene treatment, removing these deposits, that can help keep your gums healthy and your teeth looking good.
We do not want cost to be a barrier to you accessing the best level of care for you.
How often should I see the hygienist?
For most patients annually or twice a year is recommended. For patients with active gum disease four times per year may be needed.
What is gum disease?
Plaque around teeth can cause the gums to inflame. If left untreated this can cause the bone levels around the teeth to reduce, ultimately ending in the tooth becoming loose and even falling out.
